get_enums() bypassed _post() and made its own requests.request() call, which meant HMAC authentication was never applied, and error handling was duplicated. Generalize _post() into a _request(method) gateway that supports both GET and POST, then rewrite get_enums() as a one-liner that delegates to it. _post() is kept as a thin wrapper for backward compatibility. Closes #59
